An update

Wow, it’s been almost four years since my last post. I wish I could say I have a new story done to post, but unfortunately, I don’t. Instead, I just have news that I’m writing again. I’ve taken a huge break. There were a few times over the years where I started writing, or attempted to work on a WIP. But for the most part, I didn’t. Lots of distractions have kept me from writing over the years. Not to mention I had writer’s block on every WIP I have. 99% of the time, I’d open a word document, read through it, get to where I left off, and remember why I stopped writing the thing. Anyways, the motivation to overcome the blockage hit me a couple weeks ago. And now, I’m working on the Runaway With Faye sequel thing. I also have a WIP that I can probably finish the first draft in 15k more words or so, but I really really really want to get the sequel over and done with.

It’s been rough though. The main reason I’ve taken so long with it is because, truthfully, I had no idea where I was going with it. The story went all over the place. A total, unorganized mess. But a couple weeks ago, I figured out what was making it an unorganized mess. It’s still a bit of a mess, but it’s a mess that’s actually going somewhere. It’ll probably take quite some time before I have the first draft finished, and even longer to go through the editing stage. (Don’t be surprised if it takes another four years to get to posting the thing.) But progress is finally being made!

I also have two other WIPs. Both only in the first draft stage as well. One, as mentioned, is close to being done. (Another young adult love story like Russell and Sal but at the same time is nothing like Russell and Sal.) The other has a long way to go. (Funny story involving vampires and were-creatures.) But I don’t want to work on either of those until the sequel thing is finished to completion. Or if I get stuck again and want to work on something else for the sake of working on something.

I’ve also got an idea for a dystopian romance(?) brewing in my head as well, inspired by the current state of the world. I haven’t wrote a word of it though, other than dumping a few ideas into this app called Obsidian. (An app I discovered recently and recommend- I have it to thank for my renewed interest in writing. But that’s a different post for a different time.)

And that’s it with writing news. Time to get back to it! 😄
