Ditching WordPress for Neocities

This is apparently my tenth blog post here on WordPress. And most likely my last. After some consideration, I’ve decided to redo my website on Neocities. It’s a website that’s a throwback to Geocities. I made a personal website on there over a year ago, and it’s been fun. I have to code everything. But the vibe of using Neocities is different. Here things feel a bit too professional, and like I have to have a certain image reflecting that. But on Neocities, I feel like I can be more myself. Plus they don’t put ads on your site at all. And I strongly agree with their message of returning to the old internet before it was taken over by large corporations and modern-day social media. (I really miss the old internet.)

I’m also going to be blogging there instead of here. Here’s the link to the new website: https://rileykifer.neocities.org/ rileykifer.com should also redirect you to there now.

I also plan on posting Runaway with Faye on Inkitt sooner than later. And after that’s up, I’ll start preparing the sequel for posting everywhere! Then, maybe, I’ll finish the first draft of this one WIP I’m close to done with. Maybe I’ll even write a never-ending soap opera! (Fun fact that’s kind of what the sequel to Runaway with Faye was supposed to be. Unfortunately that turned into a trainwreck. So we’re getting a normal novel instead.)

Until next time. On Neocities…
